I don’t do this as a major [my love is computers] or anything. I haven’t went to school for it; I taught myself. I know I’m still a novice and everything, I don’t need anyone to tell me that. So now that I know this slideshow for WordPress actually works. I can add more to it. I think is the safest way and easiest way to show my designs. Since I’m very happy to make a tutorial on how to do this I will also like to note that I’m not familiar with Vista or Mac even if Vista is fairly the same interface as Windows XP, but Mac isn’t so for those who don’t know how to do fonts for Mac your are going to have another blog. Of course this blog is going to have step by step images. Moving on…

What you’ll need:

• A Windows XP OS [Operating System].
• WinRAR or Winzip

Step one: Choosing and downloading your fonts: The Font [Viks Evolt] and example that I will be using is going to be from dafont.com. [Note: The pictures are clickable, so you can get a better view, so feel free to click them].

• Whether its from 1001fonts.com or dafont.com the same rules apply. Select your font and where there is an option, select download. [Yes, I'm going to be VERY thorough].

• There should be a window that popped up asking you to either open or save file. & If you have WinRAR or Winzip, next to save as it should say either one of those or which ever program you use to open compressed files. Which is also another way to open files if you don’t trust zip programs.

• Leave the options as is. Click ok  and its best you know where you save your files that you download from the web to.

Step two: Installing the font.

• Double click on the icon on your desktop or where ever you got the file saved. Whether you have WinRAR or Winzip or jus the regular compressed file. The rules will still apply.
• Now if there are two options that you would want to do. Either Extract the file:

When you select extract, a will will pop up:

Select where you want the file to go, I chose the desktop cause its easier.

Then select okay. There will be a quick extracting window and will disappear cause the file is so little and it takes little time and it will be on your desktop or again, where ever you want it to be extracted to.

• Or you can drag and drop the file by selecting and dragging into the Fonts folder in the Control Panel.

Step Three: Putting the font in folder.

As I mentioned before above you can drag and drop the file into the folder. Please note that there is sometimes another file in there that have Mac within the file name, that is a font file but only for Mac computers. Also there are sometimes numerous files in the folder, that is because those are the different type of forms of the font. Example, bold, italic, etc.

• Go to Start > Control Panel > Fonts.
• Open up the Fonts folder and either drag and drop the extracted file from the desktop to the folder or you can also drag and drop the file from the compressed, WinRAR, Winzip folder.

  

A window should pop up that looks like this:

If you get an error it is probably because…

1. You have that font already installed.
2. Its corrupted.

• If #2 happens try finding the same font on another site. Its not your computer its the file and you should not be worried if its a virus or not cause your Anti-virus program would find it before you even get to this point.

Okay since a lot of people have been asking me how to add music to their CS [Crushspot] page I decided to make this tutorial since telling them without pictures doesn’t seem to work. So people who can’t seem to get the hang of it, will get sent here. Its not much to read. Its like a kindergarten books, its just pictures and a few words.

Okay first, find the song you want to chose for you CS page. Click on the song and that you want. You’ll see a little section below the song where it says Auto Play and embed.

If you want it to Auto Play, click Auto Play and then click inside where it says embed.

Copy the link.

Now go back to your profile and there is will be a “Need help with music? Click Here” link. Click there and a window will pop up.

It tells you where to paste the link at.

Paste that link in the corresponding area.

A link should show up at the bottom. Thats the link you want to up in the url area. From here on you should know what to do. Sometimes once its in there though and you go and click update, it doesn’t update, so its best that press enter and then it’ll update.

Okay first you would want a torrent opener like BitTorrent or uTorrent. Download that. It doesn’t take up no kind of space at all.

They both work the same but if uTorrent doesn’t work BitTorrent is guaranteed to work. Okay anyway, after you download that. Find a site that has torrents. The most reliable one is The Pirate Bay.

The best way to find Photoshop is to simply type in Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop CS3 Extended. Depending on which one you want. But for newbies just download Photoshop CS3. Okay when looking for torrents you want to find one that has good ratings, reviews and also has a lot of seeders and not a lot of leeches. Depending on which one you chose please make sure you run a virus scan on it.

FYI: The best virus scanner for links and websites is AVG. It works wonders!

Anyway, once you’ve gotten the one you want click it and hit download. A window on your desktop should pop up saying what would you like to do? Open or Save. Well you want to open it and in that drop down menu it should say uTorrent or BitTorrent, which ever one you’ve downloaded. If it isn’t; close it and make sure the torrent is the default cause if you have Limewire; (the newest one) Limewire automatically makes it the default torrent downloader.

FYI: Limewire is risky to use and it isn’t a good torrent finder nor a good torrent downloader. Plus if you not careful you can get a lot of viruses from Limewire or any type of P2P program. Its a bit hard to run virus scans from Limewire.

FYI: If you don’t want to go through the hassles of finding a site to go to find a torrent. Download Torrent Harvester, its also a file that’s safe and doesn’t take up practically NO space. All you would have to do is type in the name of the program, music, video, game that you want to find and it will find all the available torrents. Still make sure you check the website and see if its good or not basically double check and still do the virus scan.

Okay back to Photoshop; once its finished downloading, right click on the file and click; Open containing folder. It should be instructions and such within the folder to help you further. If the instructions are confusing, you can always hit me up and I can try to help you with the best of my abilities.

FYI: There’s another way you can get Photoshop. Download the trial from the adobe.com website then find a decent patch. A patch is basically a file that automatically adds the serial. Which is another thing you can do. You can find serials but that’s more stress and searching than its worth and most doesn’t work. You can find the patches just like if you were trying to find the program. Just go to thepiratebay.org and look for them. Usually the good ones are at the top of the list, so you won’t have to do much searching.
